Made in RPG Maker 2003 (Manaics patch by BingShan)
Based on Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, A Delibird from a postal guild must go on a sneaking mission to obtain a gift from an anonymous messenger. This game takes place in the Pokémon Mystery Dungeon Universe. If any fan is interested in somewhat deep world-building in the series, this might be up your alley.
Gameplay:
Unlike most Pokémon fan games, you can't take down a squad alone. Sneaking is part of your mission; don't get caught. Use whatever resources you have and can find in the harsh weather environment, and get to your goal.

Current Zipped Version:
Changelog 1.3
Alert and Evasion Music tracks are now fixed.
Due to a small oversight, thanks to the manaics patch, the mouse can be used to interact with dialogue messages. Another benefit of using the maniacs patch is the ability to hold down shift to advance quicker in cutscenes.
Fixed STRUGGLE to be used when the player runs out of PP.
Known issues: Enemies can still spot the player when eliminated with blast seeds.
Changelog 1.2
Lagacy version(s)

Hello there! I'm currently going back through all of the jam games and giving my feedback/thoughts, so here's my thoughts on Ekans Eater!
I've never played through a Metal Gear game before so I wasn't sure how I would feel about this game, but I really enjoyed my time with it!
It felt like it really had a unique premise and was a nice change of pace to play something gameplay different like how it was.
However, with that different gameplay system I wish it was explained a bit better, as I was kind of confused early on and mostly won out of luck with the "big boss" battle at the end of the demo.
The credits were also really charming and memorable! Though that may be just because of it not being the basic Essentials credits haha.
The dialogue felt very nicely written and interrupted the gameplay at appropriate times without feeling intrusive and each of the cutscenes were purposeful and moved the plot along nicely.
Overall, a really nice project that was a nice change of pace and could really become something special if expanded on in the future! I really look forward to whatever you try to do in the future as I see something really promising in you!
Hi, Oshawott64!
I finished your game yesterday and want to give you some feedback. 😄
General thought: Pretty unique and fun!
Positives:
-Overall the fact that you did sth different (not a basic Pokemon story with catching and fighting)
-The writing was very good
-Great art (Pixel and "normal")
-While Delibird is an odd pick for a special agent (which adds to the charm), stuff like a Sky Commander Braviary, Sniper Inteleon and Mind Reading Malamar were great picks for those kinds of personality.
Negatives:
-It was pretty hard to know where and how Zangoose can spot me. Maybe add like a graphic which shows the vision of Zangoose.
-I didn't really see a reason to switch between moves. Icy Wind seemed like the best, I spammed it and succeeded. 😅
Overall a solid little demo. Can't wait to see how you expand it.
Congrats on submitting something within the deadline! 🎉
This is really good! I enjoyed the stealth despite the limitations of RPG Maker XD A few bugs i found: The game fails to check if the player actually has an item before they can use it, it just needs them to select it. So, you can just spam blast seeds as long as you have one of them and never unselect the Zero'd version of it. Blast seeds destruction mechanic breaks the Sirfetched fight because the destruction mechanic reverses and makes blocks that are solid, even making it possible to Soft Lock it entirely. Sometimes when getting caught, the games music (I think) bugs out and plays this weird sound that just repeats over and over again like your scrolling through a playback of FL Studio while the project is playing.
Feel free to comment on any game breaking bugs that I overlooked
