Hello there! I'm going back to write my feedback/thoughts on all the jam games, so here's my thoughts on Pokémon Hibernation!
The designs and sprites of the player and all the regional forms are absolutely astounding and especially for the regional forms so creative! I'm really looking forward to future releases if there are more planned ones and to see how the current ones evolve and seeing them in the game.
I find the dialogue of the game to be a little clunky at times, mainly with the pacing being so fast that you can't really delve into any of the concepts that you're going into that deeply making it all somewhat surface level and hard for the reader/player to really understand and comprehend what you're trying to say since you've already moved on to the next thing at that point.
The mapping in the jam release version of the game is pretty solid, it could be improved in the future especially by fixing some of the tile errors with the tall grass using some of the wrong connection corner tiles.
Overall, a pretty short game that has some really strong points to it! If you wanted to really try and improve it I would try and look back at the writing so far and see if you can expand any of the writing that's there already to try and make it feel more substantial, and that goes with the cave too since from what I remember that's only one room where I feel like it would feel more substantial and full if the cave was more rooms. I'm looking forward to seeing what you choose to do in the future and what you're working on with this game in the future!
